I think that if someone asked me why I love "jam sessions" or "why do I play Bridge for money," I would say it's because I have a deep passion and love of these two incredibly stimulating activities. It also indicates that I am competitive. I can equate Mail-Art with these two activities because I take everything seriously even when I'm having a wonderful time. I always feel that I must become better at what I'm trying to achieve. To become a better musician or Bridge player, I need practice and have highly experienced players in my game otherwise, I will not increase my skills. I apply the same theory to Mail-Art. I believe that in one's lifetime, we try to do the best that we can. We strive for perfection knowing that it is not achievable yet we continue our quest for it.
