Postal strikes here for next three days and look like being repeated next week - so no mail art for me. Thank goodness for the internet - until the next power cut!
The worst that can happen: a postal strike. For me, my Postoffice closed. I have to go to a new place. The Postal Office isn't making profit, they loose their market. It this the beginning of the end? No mail in the mailbox?
did the strike end without a result?
No strikes anymore. Only too high postage rates to send many things out to other continents. Maybe the global scale of the mail-art network is at stake here....
Ruud, I believe you are right! The high cost of postage has stopped me from sending out much mail art overseas. 98c for just a one ounce letter to get to you in your country. Times that by 20 or 30 mail artists and soon the hobby turns expensive when you are low in funds. I like the stamp you posted, and I saved the image to print out on envelopes. Kudos to you Ruud for all your hard work in the network!
